Come on in and browse John’s love of the Big Sur Coast, as captured in his paintings. John’s family has been in the area for over 100 years. His powerful love for Big Sur has made it impossible for him to pull up his deep roots in the area, and made him feel eternally grateful to be alive, and blessed with the life, and the challenges of developing his property, and building his home, on his raw, rugged Clear Ridge land in Big Sur through the past 40 years. A General Building Contractor since 1996, John grew up in, and around the ocean his whole life, surfing, fishing, and building fine homes in the Big Sur area to this day still. Having raised his children who are now grown, a son and a daughter. John has 3 grandsons, from son, Ryan, and a granddaughter, from his daughter, Lily, who is now expecting her second child.
John shares his life with his beautiful and beloved Jeanne by his side, who after years of hearing John talk about his desires to try oil painting, set John up with some supplies on his birthday in 2019, so he could begin to realize his dream of painting. Thus began John’s adventures in capturing on canvas, his feelings of experiencing first hand, some of the wonders and mysteries that are, Big Sur! An award winning artist, John entered some of his works in the 2019 Monterey County Fair and took home, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention wins, in his first year of painting. In 2020’s Monterey County Fair, John had 8 more, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place wins, plus 4 more Honorable Mentions. John had additional 1st place wins in 2021’s County Fair as well! The experiences of John’s life in Big Sur, seem to radiate out from within his creations, some viewers have said. THE GICLEE PRINTING TECHNIQUE:
Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival pigmented inks onto coated cotton canvas. The Giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
Their aspect is actually astounding and you will be amazed by the finish and the feel of them!
The archival quality of the Giclee print rivals traditional printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries everywhere. These prints will keep their looks for many years indoors (60 to 80 years minimum).
A Giclee on canvas is coated, stretched over wooden frame stretcher bars, wired and ready to hang.
It looks amazingly similar to an original canvas.
With the printed edges, prints are suitable for display and hanging and look great from any angle without the addition of a frame, although, that choice can be made by you at any time.
Prints come pre-wired, and are ready for immediate hanging, ready for you to enjoy!
